French Pattern Tiles, Tuscany Bistro Wall Mirror
Talk about color, texture and….viva la difference, a mirror that’s obviously unusual. This scrumptious tile Tuscany Bistro wall mirror—fourteen handmade ceramic or glass art tiles hand-adhered to a black scrolled metal frame– offers a plethora of possibilities to those who love pushing the boundaries of the imagination. Whether the tiles are glass or ceramic, mural style or individual tile style, there is simply no limit to the stunning colors, textures, designs and style you can bring to this piece of functional art, making it truly your own.
This particular arrangement, called “Delphine”, is comprised of art from our pattern gallery. Of course, you are not limited in the images you choose, as you can choose any image from Color Bakery to design your mirror–or even upload your own art or photography. This mirror has been retailed for up to $500.00, so you will be very pleasantly surprised by the price: $199.90 for a mirror using Color Bakery art. A wonderful price for what is a one-of-a-kind art mirror which literally stops people in their tracks.
Some symmetry with the tiles works better than fourteen totally different images. Of course we are available if you need some help designing your mirror. Click the photo to purchase or to learn more, or click here.
And more original art tile patterns……
Brand new patterns available for custom printing on all our products.
Lately, I sleep in four hour increments, and I find myself working all throughout the night. I watch the muted Vermont winter moonlight outside the window to my right suddenly turning to a smoky gray dawn mere minutes, no–hours, later, after a design marathon. When I get the urge to create I will never ignore it, because my muse is a capricious tease. She can leave me in an instant, before I even know she’s gone. And staring at my computer screen waiting to get into what I call “the Zone” is like running a car without even a thimble of gas. It’s not gonna happen.
The past week has been a prolific one. I have been mostly working with a European, country French/shabby chic type of pattern pallette, taupes and muted teals using antique woodcut ornaments as my design nuclei.
I am happy with them; I see them looking just as lovely as a kitchen backsplash as they would work on a tote bag or piece of custom imaged porcelain jewelry. Many of them are coordinated, so they would work as individual tiles on serving trays or frames, too. Not to mention tile coasters, clocks and more. I hope you like them.
All artwork is available for custom printing on all products. Click any image to be taken to the Pattern Gallery. Or click HERE for our store. To order any image on a product, just type the image name into the Color Bakery art field as you load your cart.
“Remember Paris,” New Pattern for tiles and more
The design that I had originally meant to make was centered around sunflowers, and I had planned it on being bold with primary colors. I got off track somehow, but I am not unhappy about it! I don’t know how I ended up with a vintage Parisian piece, I just kind of drifted while I was designing and the colors kept getting more muted and I kept on giving it more and more of an “inky”, aged look. I am happy with how it came out; what do you think?
As with all Color Bakery art, it is available for printing on all our products. This design would work well as anything, really; as decorative accent tiles, in frames, as coasters, etc. I think this piece was meant for tumbled stone, personally. To order this image on any product, type “Remember Paris” in the “Color Bakery image” field. See all our patterns here. See our online store, here.
Oval L’Affichage Wrought Iron Tile Frame with Tiles
This Color Bakery-designed iron frame for tiles was adapted from classic, vintage French architectural motifs. Iron frame designed by Color Bakery.
Shown, top: frame for four (4) six inch ceramic tiles; and bottom: frame for one (1) twelve inch tile. The original art patterns hail from our Pattern Gallery Click either image for more information and/or to purchase.
Wouldn’t the four tiles (top image) also make a fabulous coordinated coaster set?
New Country French Paisley Pattern, “Claudette”
Introducing “Claudette”, a soft and distinctively French paisley damask with touches of Shabby Chic. As with all Color Bakery art, we can not only produce custom tiles (glass, ceramic, stone, porcelain), but all the products on our site–from serving trays to glass clocks to high quality tote bags. Claudette would make a wonderful tile border, backsplash or individual decorative tile accent pattern. To order this pattern on any product, just type “Claudette” in the image name field when you load your cart. See all our patterns here. See our online store, here.

Custom Tile Patterns, Tile Patterns and More Tile Patterns
Yes, we have tile patterns. We have the most diversified and largest collection of beautiful, original art tile patterns anywhere. We have art nouveau tile patterns. We have grunge tile patterns. We have floral tile patterns. We have classic tile patterns. We have funky tile patterns. We have geometric tile patterns. We have abstract tile patterns. We have deco tile patterns. We have vintage tile patterns. We have fabric pastiche tile patterns. In fact, there isn’t a genre we don’t have. And if we don’t have what the customer wants, we can make it from scratch.
Know what else we can do that’s really cool? Let’s say you have a fabric design in your living room, a matching or coordinating pattern you’re using for bed or table linens, couch pillows and/or curtains. You send me a swatch of your pattern, and I can make you a tile mural, backsplash or tile border to match your pattern. I can even make the pattern seamless. I am confident that no other tile company can do that. Or, we can create a pattern for our customers from scratch, according to their tastes. Please remember, we can take any image on Color Bakery and print it on any product. See all our patterns here. See our online store, here.
Man in the Moon Glass Clock
When I was a little girl (you know, during the time of the Crusades), I adored the Mother Goose rhyme: “Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon.” There was something about the thought of a cow jumping over the moon that was so enchanting to me. And of course, not long after that, the dish ran away with the spoon. (Were they in love? Was the fork’s heart broken? I could never figure that one out, but I definitely thought about it from time to time).
I have always been inexorably drawn to the moon. In fact, my mother told me that my first word was “moon,” and not “mommy” or “daddy”. She said she pointed to the big yellow glowing ball in the sky and said, “Mindy, moon”, and I repeated the word solemnly, the first time I ever spoke. That was probably the start of a lifelong love affair with that mysterious, wondrous orb.
Much of my Dreamscape work has moons in it. But I wanted to create a moon clock that had more of a vintage, old-fashioned feel, the kind I remember from story books. So our Man in the Moon clock came to be, with a stained glass stylization. It’s 12″ round glass, and has mounting hardware on the back. You can also display it in our clock stand if you don’t want to hang it on the wall. If I had this clock as a child, I would have loved it. That much is for sure

Ceramic Tile Mural Serving Tray, Country French Pattern
One of the most wonderful things about making custom art for a living is creating something for my customers that they have looked all over for, but have not had success in finding.
A longtime client called a couple of weeks ago and told me she wanted a country French pattern, with green and blue, and a vintage feel. She wanted a personal serving tray that would go with her bedroom decor. She told me she wanted a lighthearted pattern with a vintage French feel, in blues and greens. She said she had looked all over for a tray with this kind of artwork, and couldn’t find anything she liked..so she decided to have me design it for her.
I created this art piece for her (see photo below) and she said, “that’s it!” She was so happy she sent me roses. Of course she didn’t have to do that, but the fact that I gave her exactly what she had been envisioning was so satisfying to me. Nothing like it in the world. (It also gave me a good reason to razz my husband, as he hasn’t sent me a dozen roses since the year 2000). I loved the pattern so much I made it available on Color Bakery, and it can be ordered on all our products—because, as you know, we make everything custom at the request of our customers. But it’s now part of the art lineup, in our Pattern Gallery.
It’s called, “Viva La France.”
The photo below is the pattern in tile mural format in an Alderwood Personal Serving Tray. It consists of two six inch ceramic satin matte tiles adhered to the tray by hand. If you would like to find out more or purchase, please click here or click on the photo.
