An aqua room in summer-new art from Color Bakery.
When you live in Vermont, you learn that the winters are very long–at least six weeks longer than they have to be. When Glen (my husband) and I first moved up here, we were struck by the amount of swimming pools we saw–seems every house, or almost every house, had a swimming pool. “How odd!” I thought. “Such a cold place, yet they have pools.” Now I know why: the summer is so short, and so precious up here, that they are committed to really enjoying it as much as they can, and squeezing out every sundrenched day. Even in the start of autumn when you feel the first chill, people in Vermont are defiant and won’t wear sweatshirts or jackets. You’ll still see them walking around in shorts and tank tops, as if their clothing choices can hold the winter at bay. I must admit to having the winter blues, so I decided to make a cheerful summer scene through the vantage point of a window.
I am nuts over aqua. If I had my way, the whole world would be painted aqua and purple and then all would be well.
Here’s an aqua summer window scene, new to our Vintage Gallery. It’s called, “Marcie’s Window”. You can order this image custom on all of our products. (Click here to visit our ecommerce store.)
